Uses
Tools, and why I picked them

- Agent
-
Where most of my work starts these days, with my own skills and rules set up around it.
- Parallel work
-
A few agents at once, each in its own worktree.
- Voice
-
Probably talking to Claude more than typing to it at this point.
02 Editor
- Theme & font
-
Kanagawa Dragon , JetBrains Mono
Same theme in the editor and the terminal, so it all kinda blends together.
03 Terminal
- Terminal
-
Replaced iTerm2 for me. Fast and low maintenance so far.
- Multiplexer
-
One tmuxinator layout per project.
- CLI
-
fzf , zoxide , ripgrep , bat , fd , gh
zoxide and fzf for getting around, ripgrep whenever I need to find something.
- Dotfiles
-
Keeps the setup the same across my work and personal Macs.
04 Stack
- Frameworks
-
React , React Native , Expo , Next.js , Astro , Vue
React by default. Astro for content sites like this one, and Expo whenever it has to ship to a phone.
- Desktop
-
When it has to be a desktop app, so the React carries over.
- Data
-
Query for server state, with Zod checking it on the way in.
- Styling
-
Still the default, with colour tokens in OKLCH.
- Backend
-
Hono on Node for APIs. Convex when I want a real backend, not the client hitting the database directly.
- Testing
-
The obvious pick once a project is on Vite.
- Tooling
-
Volta keeps Node versions in check per project. pnpm or bun depending on the repo.
- Language
-
Everywhere I can, even for the small stuff.

Lighter than Docker Desktop and starts up a lot faster.
- Design
-
Mostly in the browser, for mockups and checking designs.
- Screenshots
-
Pretty much every screenshot and screen recording I take goes through it.
07 Hardware

Usually whatever work hands me. I’m conservative on specs anyway.

Ergodox at the desk, Moonlander when I’m on the go.
- Mouse
